Course Content
- Introduction
- Daily inspections of machine
- Safe use of tractor around site
- Certification and testing of machine & attachments
- Terrain and associated hazards
- Manoeurve in confined spaces
- To be able to carry out a risk assessment of the tasks in hand
- Enter and leave cab safely
- Understand the function of all controls
- Understand the hazards associated with some controls
- Start and stop the engine in a safe manner
- Be competent in driving a tractor in a forward and reverse direction
- Understand reasons for daily checks
- Competently perform checking of the lubrication, cooling, and air intake of the engine, perform basic lubrication of the tractor and ensure the tractor is in safe road going state
- Attach a mounted implement and manoeurve in a forward and reverse direction with a mounted implement
- Attach a trailed implement and manoeurve in a forward and reverse direction with a trailed implement
- Correctly attach a PTO shaft between tractor and implement
- Attach the PTO shaft guards correctly
Requirements
- Trainees must have the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment with them i.e. Hard hat, Safety steel toe capped boots, hi-viz vest and gloves
- I.D (Passport or Driving licence)
- PPS Number
- 1 x Passport photo
Certification
On successful completion of the Tractor Training Course candidates will be issued with a Carroll Training Certificate.
